Dev Release 108
Greetings BlockDAG Coummunity,
Let's wrap this week with some exciting news on blockDAG x1 Application and BlockDAG explorer.
Developer Post: Exciting Updates and Future Plans for the BlockDAG X1 Application
We’re thrilled to share that the latest build of the BlockDAG X1 application has been successfully submitted to Apple for review! This update brings significant changes based on feedback and queries from Apple, aimed at enhancing both functionality and user experience.
Key Changes in the Latest Build:
- Repositioned Account Deletion Functionality: In response to Apple’s feedback, we have relocated the "Delete Account" feature. Previously, this functionality was found under the "Account Information" section, but to improve accessibility and user flow, it has now been moved to the "Settings" module. This update not only makes the feature easier to find but also ensures that users have full control over their accounts in a more intuitive manner.
- Clarified BDAG Points Earning and Usage: We addressed specific queries from Apple concerning how BDAG points are earned and utilized within the application. To provide greater transparency, we have updated the in-app descriptions and user guides to explain the earning process:
- Earning BDAG Points: Users can earn BDAG points through activities like mining and referrals within the app. The updated guide details each method, including the current rates and any limitations or caps on earnings.
- Using BDAG Points: Points earned can be redeemed for rewards, converted into tokens for use within the BlockDAG ecosystem, or transferred to a connected wallet. We've made it clearer how these points can be leveraged within and beyond the application, ensuring users understand the benefits and value of their engagement.
Upcoming Features: Enhancing User Experience
We're not stopping there! As we move forward, we have some exciting plans to elevate the BlockDAG X1 application even further:
- MetaMask Wallet Integration: In our next phase of development, we will be integrating MetaMask support, directly into the BlockDAG X1 application. This integration will allow users to securely connect their existing MetaMask wallets, enabling direct interaction with the BlockDAG ecosystem. Users will be able to manage their assets, make transactions, and participate in decentralized applications (dApps) seamlessly from within the app.
- API Implementation for Real-Time Wallet Balance Display: We are in the process of developing APIs that will fetch user-specific wallet balances and display them on the official BlockDAG website. This feature will allow users to view their wallet balances in real time, offering greater transparency and convenience. It will also enhance the overall user experience by providing a unified view of their assets across platforms.
Our Commitment to Continuous Improvement
At BlockDAG, we’re committed to providing a robust and secure application that not only meets the expectations of our users but also complies with the highest standards set by platform providers. Our team is dedicated to continuously improving the application by listening to user feedback and promptly addressing any concerns raised by partners like Apple.
We thank you for your continued support and patience as we work through these updates and enhancements. Your feedback is invaluable, and we encourage you to reach out with any suggestions or comments that could help us serve you better.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates, and keep exploring the possibilities with BlockDAG X1!
Progress Update on the BlockDAG Explorer
We are excited to share the latest developments on the BlockDAG Explorer! Our team has been working diligently to enhance the functionality and provide a more comprehensive view of the blockchain. Here’s an update on what’s currently in progress and what’s coming next.
Current Development: Fetching Transactions by Address
One of our major ongoing tasks is implementing the feature to fetch transactions by address. This enhancement will allow users to search for and view all transactions associated with a specific address directly within the explorer. By providing this functionality, we aim to improve transparency and make it easier for users to track transactions, monitor address activity, and verify balances. This feature is crucial for those who need to follow the flow of funds and for developers building applications that interact with the BlockDAG blockchain.
Next Steps: Testing and Infrastructure Deployment
Once the "Fetch Transactions by Address" feature is completed, our team will move forward with two critical tasks in parallel:
- Comprehensive Testing of the Explorer: We will initiate a thorough testing phase to ensure the BlockDAG Explorer performs optimally under various conditions. This includes:
- Functionality Testing: Validating all features, including the new "Fetch Transactions by Address" capability, to ensure they work as intended.
- Performance Testing: Assessing how the explorer handles large volumes of data, especially under peak loads, to ensure quick response times and a smooth user experience.
- Security Testing: Conducting extensive security checks to protect user data and ensure the integrity of the blockchain information displayed on the explorer.
- User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Gathering feedback from internal and external testers to refine the explorer’s usability and address any issues before the official release.
- Infrastructure Deployment for Explorer Launch: In parallel with the testing efforts, our team will start deploying the necessary infrastructure to host the BlockDAG Explorer. This involves:
- Server Setup and Configuration: Utilizing robust cloud infrastructure, we will set up servers with high availability, redundancy, and load-balancing capabilities to handle the expected traffic.
- Database Optimization: Ensuring the database is fully optimized for quick data retrieval and storage, particularly for large-scale queries like transaction history and block details.
- Security and Compliance Measures: Implementing strong security protocols, including SSL encryption, firewall configurations, and regular backups to safeguard against any potential threats.
- Scalability Planning: Preparing the infrastructure to scale seamlessly as the user base grows, ensuring that the explorer remains fast and reliable even under heavy loads.
Preparing for a Seamless Launch
Our goal is to provide a powerful and user-friendly explorer that meets the diverse needs of our community, from individual users to developers and businesses. By running these processes in parallel, we aim to reduce the time to market and ensure a seamless testnet launch. The deployment process will be closely monitored to identify and address any issues immediately, ensuring a stable and reliable experience from day one.
What’s Next?
Following the infrastructure deployment and final testing, we will be moving toward the official testnet launch of the BlockDAG Explorer. This milestone will mark a significant step in our mission to provide a transparent and accessible blockchain experience for everyone. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for your continued support!
We’re excited about the progress we’re making and look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks. As always, your feedback is essential to us, so feel free to reach out with any suggestions or comments.
